Find Harrison County Released Inmates

Harrison County released inmates require a search that follows the custody that actually ended. To search for Harrison County released inmates, begin with the county booking transaction and court file, then switch to state, federal, immigration, or supervision records only when the destination calls for it. Harrison County released inmates usually leave the live jail view, so an absent name is not proof of freedom. The lasting record may instead show bond, sentence completion, discharge, an internal move, or transfer to another custodian.

Reading Harrison County Release Events

A Harrison County release is a recorded custody transaction. It is not merely a name disappearing from the online Jailing Search. The Harrison County Sheriff holds the booking and jail-exit record, while the court file explains the legal event behind it. If another agency took custody, that receiving agency supplies the next record. These sources answer different parts of the same question and should be read together.

Community release can follow bond, time served, sentence satisfaction, or a court order. Parole and mandatory supervision release a state prisoner from confinement while TDCJ authority continues. Probation is imposed by a court and is not parole. A transfer to TDCJ, another county, USMS, or ICE ends Harrison County jail custody without proving that the person went free.

Release
The end of one agency's physical custody, which may lead to the community or another legal status.
Discharge
The completion of the sentence or supervision described by the responsible agency or court.
Parole
Conditional release from state prison for the unexpired part of a sentence.
Probation
Court-ordered community supervision, distinct from state parole.

Harrison County Release Types

The release label determines what to verify next. A bond changes custody but does not decide the case. A dismissal may end one charge while another hold remains. A transfer is not a community release. The record should therefore pair the stated authority with the destination and the court cause.

Note: Bond, dismissal, and release processing can occur at different times, so the jail's exit timestamp remains the best proof of physical departure.

Fields in a Harrison County Release Record

Harrison County does not promise that every field below remains visible online. These are the useful existing fields to identify in a booking-and-release sheet or jail card. Asking for them by name reduces ambiguity and helps distinguish a genuine community release from a transfer.

FieldWhat it shows
Name and booking identifierConnects the release to the correct jail admission
Booking date and timeStarts the custody period being reviewed
Arresting agencyIdentifies the agency that initiated the booking
Charges, holds, and cause numbersLinks jail custody to court matters and other agencies
Bond and disposition informationShows authority that may explain the exit
Release date and timeRecords when Harrison County custody ended
Release type or authorityDistinguishes bond, time served, court action, or transfer
Destination or receiving agencyShows whether another custodian took control

The court docket may add plea, judgment, sentence, jail credit, probation, dismissal, or revocation details. It can explain why release was authorized, but it may not show the exact time a person passed through the jail exit process.

Note: Ask for the destination field expressly because an empty or omitted destination must not be treated as proof of release home.

Requesting a Harrison County Release Record

Use the Sheriff's Open Records Request form when the portal does not preserve the needed transaction. The printed choices include incident, arrest, and accident, but no separate release-record box. Describe the exact existing record and fields in the request.

  1. Identify the person, booking or arrest date, date of birth when appropriate, cause number, and desired range.
  2. Ask for the booking-and-release sheet or jail card, including release date and time, type or authority, bond, holds, and destination.
  3. Complete the requester details, identification-copy requirement, and signature shown on the form.
  4. Set a cost ceiling and ask for an itemized estimate and electronic inspection or copies when available.
  5. Confirm the delivery address at (903) 923-4000 because the Sheriff page and PDF show different mailing addresses.

Transport & Warrants: (903) 923-4002

The form cites Government Code §552.221, says requests will be reviewed and processed within ten days, and lists $0.10 per page. Work taking more than one hour is listed at $15 per hour plus 20 percent overhead. Those are the form's stated figures, not a guaranteed bill for every format.

Texas Law and Harrison County Release Records

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 provides the public-information framework. Section 552.221 calls for prompt access or production. A request needs no special phrase, but describing a maintained record precisely can prevent the office from treating it as a demand to create a new report.

Release records are generally requestable subject to exceptions. Active-investigation information may implicate §552.108, while juvenile, medical, security-sensitive, and protected identifying information may be withheld or redacted. An expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A can require covered records to be returned or destroyed. Nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 limits public disclosure but is a distinct remedy.

Retention is not portal visibility. Texas local-government schedules and the applicable record series govern official retention. No Harrison County source promises how long a released booking remains online.

Bond Processing for Harrison County Releases

Harrison County maintains a Bail Bond Board and publishes a licensed-company list. The Sheriff accepts bonds from appropriately licensed people or companies, subject to statutory exemptions. Bonds & Fines can be reached at (903) 923-4004 when the question concerns local bond processing.

The county's inmate-search notice says a $25 per-bond processing fee began July 1, 2025. Payment or approval starts a process. It is not the moment of physical release. Other charges, holds, paperwork, or transport may still affect the exit, so confirm the final release transaction instead of using a receipt time as the answer.

Note: A bond release leaves the criminal case pending and should never be described as an acquittal or final disposition.

Harrison County Release Records and Two Clerks

Criminal files split between two Harrison County offices. The District Clerk holds adult felony matters and says post-1987 cases are searchable online. Its request process asks for the case number, party name, and year. The County Clerk identifies the Class A and B misdemeanor channel and supports County Court at Law records. A search can fail simply because the wrong clerk was asked.

The source trail matters because a docket can show bond, plea, dismissal, judgment, sentence, jail credit, probation, or revocation. Yet none of those entries alone proves the exact door time. Pair the legal event with the Sheriff's release transaction and any receiving-custody result.

The Harrison County District Clerk page is the source for the felony division. The captured official page below shows that local records channel.

Harrison County District Clerk felony records page

The clerk page supports using the cause number and year to connect a jail departure with the court action that authorized it.

Note: A missing public court result can reflect spelling, clerk division, an older file, sealing, nondisclosure, or expunction rather than no case.

Search for Harrison County Released Inmates

Start with the custody that was supposed to end, then follow the reported destination. The county jail, TDCJ, parole, federal, and immigration systems are not interchangeable. Use exact identifiers and record each lookup date because intake and status updates may lag.

  1. Search the official Harrison County Jailing Search by exact name and reasonable spelling variants. Save any booking number, cause number, charge, bond, or release entry.
  2. If the name is absent or unclear, call the Main Jail at (903) 923-4003. Ask whether the person was released or transferred, the effective date and time, and what record confirms it.
  3. Search the proper Harrison County clerk by cause number. Use the District Clerk for adult felonies and the County Clerk for Class A or B misdemeanors.
  4. If Harrison County reports a TDCJ transfer, allow for intake indexing, then search TDCJ by name, TDCJ number, or SID.
  5. For state parole, use TDCJ data and the Marshall District Parole Office. For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator.
  6. When no portal answers the question, request the Sheriff's booking-and-release record and the relevant court order.
Why a name leaves the roster: Harrison County removal may reflect release, internal movement, TDCJ commitment, another warrant, federal pickup, immigration custody, hospitalization, escape, or death.

For a time-window request rather than one named person, use the same absent-feed fallback without presenting a current roster as a release list.

Harrison County Recent Release Lookup

Harrison County publishes a dynamic official Jailing Search but no separately labeled released-today, rolling 24-hour, or rolling 72-hour feed. The county gives no public field dictionary, refresh interval, or post-release display period. A portal error from an automated request also does not mean that the interactive public record is confidential.

Use the live portal for a known person, then call jail administration or ask for an existing release log for an exact time range. If the jail system cannot produce that report without new programming, ask for the corresponding existing jail cards or booking-and-release sheets. Read every transfer destination before counting an exit as community release.

Does “not found” mean released? No. It means only that no public result appeared under that search. Check spelling, call the jail, use the court cause, and request the transaction.

Harrison County Release Supervision Search

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles makes parole and mandatory-supervision decisions. TDCJ Parole Division supervises the person afterward. Harrison County is assigned to the Marshall District Parole Office in Region I. An active supervision result means prison confinement ended, not that the sentence was fully discharged.

Probation follows a different route. The sentencing court imposes it, and Harrison County CSCD administers local community supervision. There is no supported public county probationer locator comparable to TDCJ search. Use the judgment, later court orders, and CSCD for the reporting channel. A probation discharge order does not prove the timestamp of an earlier jail release.

Note: Parole eligibility and a favorable Board code are not the same as completed release processing or final discharge.

Harrison County Release Alerts and Other Custody

Texas IVSS-Counties replaced county VINE service on September 1, 2025. Harrison County links the current portal. Search the individual in Harrison County, confirm the identifiers, and register for phone, text, or email alerts. The separate TDCJ IVSS portal covers post-conviction prison, parole, discharge, and warrant events. An alert confirms a reported event but does not supply every destination field in the Sheriff's transaction.

BOP locator records can show a federal person as “Released” with a date, but that does not rule out another sovereign's custody or federal supervision. USMS has no comparable public historical locator. For a federal detainee once housed under contract in Harrison County, use the county transaction, federal docket, and later BOP record.

ICE ODLS can show current detainees and people released from ICE custody during the preceding 60 days. Recent events can lag, and “not found” does not prove freedom. Use an A-number and country of birth or the requested biographical fields, then call the ICE information line when needed.

Where Harrison County Release Status Appears

The best source changes with custody. A live roster chiefly answers who is visible now. Historical records and destination systems are needed after the name drops away. Compare the scope before drawing a conclusion.

Two Harrison County Release Facilities

Harrison County runs one jail system across two buildings. The Harrison County Main Jail at 110 South Franklin Street is the primary intake and processing site for men and women. Community release is confirmed with the county booking transaction; a TDCJ, county, federal, or immigration transfer must be followed to that agency.

The Harrison County Travis Street Jail Annex at 2200 East Travis Street is male overflow. Since the Main Jail handles processing, a departure from the Annex may be movement back to the Main Jail, community release, or onward transfer. Call before assuming the destination from a missing name.

Why Harrison County Jail Moves Resemble Releases

The county's facility history explains a common records trap. A courthouse jail dating from 1963 gave way to the connected Main Jail in 1993. The 200-bed Travis Street Annex opened in 2011. Today, the Main Jail remains intake and processing while the Annex serves male overflow.

A move between those buildings is an internal custody event, not release. The county reports a maximum system capacity of 350, but that system-wide figure does not make each building a separate database. Ask for destination whenever a person disappears from the Annex or is brought to the Main Jail for processing.

Note: Main Jail, Annex, and Transport & Warrants staff answer different parts of a movement inquiry, so state the booking and suspected transfer clearly.

Travel After a Harrison County Release

GoBus provides weekday demand-response service in Harrison County, and Marshall operates a low-fare city route. Both require live schedule and route confirmation. Demand-response trips normally need advance booking, and neither provider identifies either Harrison County jail as a guaranteed stop or advertises a jail-release pickup program.

These services may help with a planned daytime trip, but they are not a safe answer for an unannounced night or weekend discharge. Families should first confirm the facility, actual release status, time, and permitted pickup point. No official county source states a public release gate, waiting area, or routine release hour.

Federal Prisoners in Harrison County Release Records

Harrison County Commissioners Court minutes dated July 1, 2025 documented 33 U.S. Marshals contract prisoners during a recent reporting period. Their physical presence in a Harrison County building did not convert them into ordinary county prisoners. A move out may be a federal transfer rather than community release.

Use the county jail transaction to confirm when local custody ended, then read the federal docket or contact the federal clerk for the detention or release order. Later BOP data may show designation or a federal release result. USMS itself does not maintain a broad public historical release locator like BOP.
